Troy Baker to host the 41st Golden Joystick Awards Powered by Intel

New York / London, October 10, 2023: The 41st Golden Joystick Awards Powered by Intel is pleased to announce that actor Troy Baker will be hosting this year’s awards ceremony live from the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London.
 
Baker, who is best known for playing Joel in The Last of Us franchise, as well as leading roles in Death Stranding, Stray Gods and Fort Solis, will be joined by special guests, previous winners, this year’s nominees and VIPs from across the gaming world to celebrate the best games, studios, communities and hardware of 2023.
 
Troy Baker, actor and show host said: “I was lucky enough to host last year’s incredible virtual award show but I am super excited to be coming to London to host this year’s show as it returns live and in person for the first time since 2019! Join me to celebrate the best games, studios, performers and hardware that have made 2023 such an incredible year for games. I literally can’t wait!”  

The Golden Joystick Awards Powered by Intel is the world's longest-running public-voted games awards show, attracting millions of votes every year from around the world. Fans can vote now at goldenjoysticks.com in 17 categories including ‘Xbox’, ‘Nintendo’ and ‘PlayStation Game of the Year’, ‘Best Audio’, ‘Best Storytelling’ and the ‘Most Wanted’ Award. Voting closes on October 20, 2023. Additional awards, including ‘Ultimate Game of the Year’, ‘Best Performer’ and ‘Best Supporting Performer’ will open for voting on October 23, 2023.
 
All the winners will be revealed in a celebration of games in London and live-streamed globally on all major streaming platforms on Friday, November 10, 2023. Viewers can watch the ceremony live via YouTube, Twitch, Steam, Facebook and Twitter/X as well as GamesRadar, PCGamer and TechRadar Gaming.
 
This year’s live event will feature:
 
  • Special guests and previous winners from across the gaming world will present over 20 Golden Joystick Awards to this year’s winners, with voting running +40% year-on-year in a stellar 12-months for critically-acclaimed games and public interest.
  • Guests include actors Manon Gage and Maggie Robertson, both previous winners of the ‘Golden Joysticks Best Performer Award’; Gosia Mitręga, Executive Producer of the new Witcher Saga at CD PROJEKT RED; award-winning composer-duo, Elvira Björkman and Nicklas Hjertberg from Two Feathers; and Neil Newbon, the voice of Astarion in this year’s Baldur’s Gate 3. Plus many more special guests to be confirmed.
 
  • Baldur’s Gate 3 and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom lead the nominations with four picks each. Developers Larian Studios and Nintendo EPD are also shortlisted in Studio of the Year. The competition heats up as we prepare to unveil our Ultimate Game of the Year shortlist on Oct 23.
