To Rule, or to Ruin. Every choice has a cost - Road to Empress II Launches on Steam, App Store and Google Play

Road to Empress II expands its acclaimed live-action interactive cinematic experience with around 1,000 minutes of new footage, deeper political strategy, and consequence-driven storytelling, with a Nintendo Switch™ version arriving later in 2026

[Shanghai, China – June 9] – New One Studio today launches Road to Empress II, the highly anticipated sequel to the studio’s breakout live-action interactive cinematic experience.

Building on the success of Road to Empress I, which earned an overwhelmingly positive reception on Steam, Road to Empress II expands the series’ signature palace intrigue into a larger, more dangerous struggle for the pinnacle of power. Players step into the role of a seasoned political strategist navigating noble factions, deadly rivalries, and impossible decisions where every action reshapes the balance of power.

The experience features around 1,000 minutes of newly produced live-action footage, larger-scale palace environments, and elaborate cinematic production inspired by classical Eastern aesthetics. Returning cast members include acclaimed actors including Kuan Hung, Evie Huang, Zeawo Yao, and Hana Lin.

“With Road to Empress II, we wanted to push every aspect of the original experience further — from the scale of the story  and the complexity of choices to the emotional weight behind every decision,” said Demi, producer of Road to Empress, “Players return to a first-person perspective, following the protagonist’s rise from obscurity to the throne as they navigate ambition, sacrifice, and the struggle for power. We look forward to welcoming players around the world into this journey and allowing them to shape its outcome through their own choices.”

Designed to deliver meaningful strategic agency alongside cinematic storytelling, Road to Empress II introduces upgraded interactive systems that place players directly at the center of imperial governance. Beyond narrative decisions, players will review memorials, issue imperial edicts, manage court factions.
