About the Game
The Floor Above is a story-driven anomaly horror game built around a deceptively simple idea: blinking.
You wake up strapped to a chair in a room that endlessly repeats. Movement is intentionally limited — you can only turn, press a few nearby buttons, and blink.
Blinking is the core gameplay mechanic. Each time you close your eyes, the room may subtly change. Objects might move, appear, disappear — or something completely unexpected might happen, making you think twice before blinking again. Your task is to decide whether what you’re seeing is real — or an anomaly.
Unlike many anomaly-spotting games, The Floor Above is narrative-driven. A mysterious narrator gradually reveals fragments of the story as the loop repeats. Each playthrough introduces new dialogue and variations, eventually unlocking four sequential endings, with the final one revealing the full truth behind the room.
While rooted in psychological horror, the game also features moments of dark humor and hidden details for attentive players to discover.
Key Features
BLINK AND REALITY CHANGES
Blinking is not just an animation — it is the core gameplay mechanic. Every time the player closes their eyes, the room may subtly change.
OBSERVE OR MISS THE TRUTH
There are no markers, hints, or obvious clues. Players must rely entirely on observation to notice what feels wrong.
STORY-DRIVEN ANOMALY HORROR
Unlike many anomaly-spotting games, The Floor Above unfolds a narrative through a mysterious narrator and environmental storytelling.
MULTIPLE ENDINGS
Four sequential endings gradually reveal the full truth behind the loop.
DARK HUMOR AND SECRETS
While rooted in psychological horror, the game occasionally breaks tension with moments of dark humor and hidden details for attentive players to discover — including the fan-favorite Morty the cat.
