Germany, 23.06.2026. Indie studio Ninetoplay has started the final playtest of The Fish Corner, its cozy fish-shop game. This is the last test before launch. The studio has built the game together with its players, and during the demo, those players kept noticing the same thing. The Fish Corner reminds them of the old fish games they loved as kids.
In The Fish Corner, you run your own little fish shop. You collect and breed fish, design your tanks, take care of them, and sell to customers. It is a calm, cozy game about building your own small world.
A throwback that players love
During the demo, one thing came up again and again. The Fish Corner feels like the old fish games people used to play in their web browser years ago, the kind you could lose a whole afternoon to. That calm, simple feeling is exactly what the studio wanted to bring back. For players who miss those games, The Fish Corner is made for them. It is cozier, it looks better, and it is easy to keep coming back to.
Finishing the game with its players
NineToPlay did not build the game alone. More than 500 players have joined the playtests so far, and their feedback has shaped the game. This last test is the final step before launch. It is a chance to fix and polish the game with the people who know it best.
The studio didn’t expect the nostalgia to hit people so hard. “So many players said the game reminded them of the little fish games they loved as kids. That is the feeling we wanted to give back. And finishing the game with our players made it much better than we could have made on our own.”
How to play
There is a free demo you can play right now that is going to stay up for a few more days. Want to join the final test? Sign up on the studio’s Discord.
