Oulu, Finland – September 27th, 2026 – VRKiwi and JetDogs today announced that Sunstone of Time, a single-player narrative VR escape room puzzle adventure, will launch on November 25, 2026 on PS VR2, Meta Quest and Steam. To mark the announcement, the studios have revealed the release date trailer, which gives a first look at the journey from a modern university lab to the heart of the Aztec empire.
Sunstone of Time, co-developed by JetDogs and VRKiwi and published by VRKiwi, follows a brilliant young researcher whose lab experiment goes terribly wrong. An ancient Aztec artifact tears open time, and the player awakens in the distant past, in ancient Tenochtitlan, with one goal: find a way back home. Standing in the way is a power-hungry High Priest who is unraveling history for his own ends.
Built for room-scale VR, the game challenges players to grab, turn, and assemble their way through six handcrafted levels, with around 6-8 hours of gameplay.

Tactile VR escape room puzzles: Reassemble ancient codices and operate a variety of mechanisms through tactile, room-scale interactions.

A story across time: Meet spiritual guides, gods, and humans, and piece together the ancient lore behind the artifact.

Diverse puzzle types: Craft custom alchemical combinations, use celestial constellations to unlock key items, and decipher glyphs and temporal mysteries.

Six unique levels: Travel from a modern university lab to ritual chambers, a prison cell mixing ancient and modern mechanisms, a hidden temple, a multi-era observatory, and the Templo Mayor.

Thwart the High Priest: Collapse his final ritual before history is lost for good.
The game made its public debut with a playable demo during Steam Next Fest in October.
