Germany, Erlangen, June 10, 2022 | The indie developer Boxelware has achieved the next milestone with Avorion: Boxelware sold almost 450,000 copies of the gigantic space sandbox game. The first DLC for Avorion, "Black Market", was released in November 2020 and was sold over 60,000 times. In addition, the Avorion soundtrack has been a success too, with 4,000 copies sold.
The gaming community is still enthusiastic about Avorion, as the user reviews on Steam confirm: 90% of the almost 10,000 user reviews are positive. This makes Avorion one of the best-rated games from Germany on Steam.From the very beginning, the indie studio has encouraged the community to get involved in the development of the title. Even after the commercial release in 2020, the full development team has stayed on to support the game with fixes, updates and extra content – all based on community feedback and suggestions.
A closer look at the Steam Workshop reveals that the Avorion community has already created tens of thousands of impressive pieces of content. In the Steam Workshop, players share their own creations: ships, stations, fighters and more are created by the community for the Avorion universe and presented to the public.
