⛰️SURVIVAL CLIMBER CAIRN DEBUTS FREE SOLO MODE ⛰️

The mode captures the high tension of Free Solo climbing

MONTPELLIER, AUGUST 20, 2025 - Announced during today’s Future Games Show in a brand new trailer, The Game Bakers (Furi, Haven) revealed a new mode for their upcoming survival-climber Cairn: Free Solo.

True to its name, Free Solo mode puts players on the wall with no pitons and no rope. Any fall can be deadly, and if you die it’s a restart from the beginning. Every movement on the wall, every meter climbed is high tension during the hours-long push to the summit. With a backpack stripped down to the bare minimum, survival and inventory management become all the more challenging. The mode is meant for players who want to test themselves and experience the razor edge tension that real free solo climbers live on the wall.

The studio also debuted the first single from Cairn original soundtrack: Only the Mountain by The Toxic Avenger. A new collab between the composer, a key figure in the electro scene, and The Game Bakers after the success of Furi and its OST (150M+ streams), the solo track draws listeners into his dense, cinematic musical narrative, and captures the tension, intensity, and epic drive at the heart of free solo climbing. The OST is composed by a standout collaboration: Martin Stig Andersen (Control, LIMBO, INSIDE), The Toxic Avenger (Furi, Road 96) and Gildaa. The single is available on all streaming platforms and Steam.

Cairn is launching on November 5, 2025 for PS5 and PC via Steam. Recently, the game’s demo passed over 500k downloads on PS5 and Steam.
