It’s been three months since STRIDEN entered Early Access, and now on September 29, the game’s very first major content patch aptly named Re Launch – is here. Based on extensive player feedback, this update brings quality-of-life improvements, bug fixes, and a stronger, more robust anti-cheat system.
The headline feature of this update is the brand-new game mode Kontroll, heavily inspired by Domination. Three flags to capture and defend, 5v5 format, easy to jump into, with fast-paced, intense matches. What sets this apart from similar titles? No skill-based matchmaking, nostalgic gunplay reminiscent of early 2010s first-person shooters, vast Scandinavian-inspired maps, and of course – the occasional radioactive bear or even a moose tank.
Alongside Kontroll comes a brand-new map: Nuke 08, set in Sweden’s capital, Stockholm. For the first time, STRIDEN players can dive into an urban combat environment.
As an extra treat, the Transmit mode also receives a fresh battleground: Souppat. This map takes players to a picturesque mountain village near the Norwegian border, surrounded by dense Scandinavian Forest.
This patch is packed with player-requested features, including:
New Game Mode: Kontrol
A fast-paced, easy-to-grasp mode inspired by the classic Domination formula.
Two Brand-New Maps: Nuke 08 & Souppat
Nuke 08 – Battle across a war-torn park in the heart of Stockholm, where danger lurks behind every corner - including radioactive bears. Souppat – Enter large-scale skirmishes in a rugged mountain village near the Norwegian border, deep in the Scandinavian forests.
Quality of Life Improvements & Bug Fixes
Dozens of community-driven tweaks and fixes to enhance gameplay.
And the big news doesn’t stop there – STRIDEN is officially joining Steam’s Autumn Sale, with a massive 80% discount to welcome new players into the world of indie shooters.
