Season 3 is already more than halfway through, and preparations for Season 4 are steadily moving forward. Over the past few seasons, we've received plenty of feedback from the community. Many of your suggestions about season pacing, progression requirements, and reward accessibility deserve serious consideration.
In this preview, we'd like to share six upcoming changes we're currently working on.
I. Achievement System Improvements: One Scroll Unlocks Them All
Achievements should be badges of honor earned through your adventures, not another repetitive grind. We know how exhausting it can be to reach the later stages of a season, look at all those locked achievement icons, and realize you still have to repeat the same tasks.
In Season 4, we're putting an end to that grind with a brand-new item: the Heavenly Secrets Scroll.
- Players who reach Level 60 can claim this item through in-game mail. Using it will instantly unlock all Achievements.
- The Heavenly Secrets Scroll will also be available in the Copper Coin Shop within the Guild Shop for 10,000 Copper Coins. If you miss the mail reward or accidentally lose the item, you can simply purchase another one.
Spend less time grinding and more time doing what you actually enjoy.
II. Extended Season Duration: Three Months to Play at Your Own Pace
"Just when things are finally getting going, the season is already ending." We've heard this complaint more times than we can count.
That's why S4 will be our first attempt at a three-month season, with future season durations to be adjusted based on player feedback. The pace of certain seasonal progression parameters will also be slowed accordingly. The idea is simple: take your time, enjoy the journey, and make the most of the season.
There's another piece of good news: the transition period following the end of S3, before the seasonal wipe, will be extended by approximately one week.
During this period, we'll distribute siege equipment, vehicles, and building resources through in-game mail, with no requirements to claim them. This will give everyone the freedom to practice, spar, and wage battles during the transition.
III. Upgraded Guild Rewards: Celestial Dragon Sovereign Equipment for More Guild Members
This is one change we're particularly excited to share.
In previous seasons, Celestial Dragon Sovereign equipment was reserved exclusively for Guild Leaders. But we all know that reaching the top of the rankings is never the achievement of one person alone. It's the result of countless battles fought together by every guild member.
Starting in S4, we'll retain the existing Guild Leader rewards while introducing substantial new rewards for guild members.
Guild Leaders of the top three guilds will continue to receive Celestial Dragon Sovereign equipment. Meanwhile, every member of the top 30 guilds in the season rankings will receive a brand-new item: the Celestial Dragon Tablet.
- By collecting a certain number of Celestial Dragon Tablets, guild members can exchange them through the in-game system for Celestial Dragon Sovereign armor, Celestial Dragon Sovereign weapons, and Celestial Dragon Orbs.
- Celestial Dragon Tablets obtained through seasonal guild ranking rewards will be bound and cannot be traded. These rewards belong to the members who fought side by side to earn their guild's ranking.
- Celestial Dragon Tablets can be accumulated across multiple seasons. Even if you fall just short this season, you can continue collecting them next season. Celestial Dragon Sovereign equipment will no longer feel out of reach.
From now on, every piece of Celestial Dragon Sovereign equipment will represent the shared glory of an entire guild.
IV. More Ways to Obtain Rare Items: Make Every Battle Count
In S4, we're significantly expanding the ways players can obtain rare items, giving dedicated players more opportunities to earn valuable resources through regular gameplay.
Sect enemies in the central area of the floating islands will feature a new hunting quest. For every 100 Sect enemies defeated, players will receive one Ancient Jade Chest, which contains one random Ancient Secret Scroll. This quest can be completed up to 10 times per day.
- Meanwhile, all monsters in the floating islands will have a chance to drop rare items, including:
- Random Ancient Secret Scroll Box
- Hundred-Forged Dragon Scale Steel
- Ninefold Mystic Stone
- Equipment Durability Potion
- Carrying Capacity Elixir
- Treasure Protection Scroll
- Changes of Zhou (Full Text)
The more effort you put in, the more opportunities you'll have to earn valuable rewards. Every battle in this new world can bring something worthwhile.
V. Individual Leaderboards: A Chance for Solo Players to Shine
Guild competition has always been a major part of Myth of Empires: Throne, but in S4, we're introducing new individual leaderboards so that solo players and smaller groups can also earn rewards through their own achievements.
In addition to the previously announced Military Pay Raiding and High-Tier Vehicle Destruction leaderboards, three more individual leaderboards will be introduced in S4.
What will they track? We'll keep that a secret for now. But don't worry, all three will focus on activities players can easily participate in during their regular adventures.
Individual leaderboard rewards will be distributed through both weekly and end-of-season settlements.
- Weekly Rankings: Players can earn practical rewards such as Exquisite Box items and Copper Coins.
- Season Rankings: At the end of the season, the top 10 players on each individual leaderboard can receive tradable Celestial Dragon Tablets.
You can save your Celestial Dragon Tablets to eventually exchange them for Celestial Dragon Sovereign equipment, or list them on the Consignment Market for other players who need them.
Whichever option you choose, your efforts will bring tangible rewards.
VI. Late-Season Catch-Up Mechanics: Plans in Development
Many players have experienced this situation: with only a few weeks remaining in a season, the gaps on the points leaderboard seem almost impossible to close. But we believe one of the most exciting aspects of seasonal competition is that the outcome should never be decided until the very end.
We're currently exploring new ways to earn points and potential catch-up mechanics that could give guilds trailing earlier in the season a chance to turn things around.
Our goal is to ensure that every battle in the later stages of a season still matters.
These plans are still being developed and tested. We'll share more details as soon as we have something concrete to announce.
From reducing the achievement grind and extending season duration to expanding guild-wide rewards and introducing individual leaderboards, every adjustment we've discussed comes directly from your feedback.
Our development team will continue listening to the community and working to make every season of Myth of Empires: Throne more rewarding, more enjoyable, and filled with fewer regrets.
We'll have more S4 previews to share in the coming weeks, so stay tuned!
