Reus 2 Heads to Strategy Fest with First Ever Public Demo

Abbey Games allows players to try out the long-awaited sequel for the very first time

[Paris, France / August 28th, 2023] - Developer Abbey Games and Publisher Firesquid are incredibly excited to announce that the long-awaited sequel to 2013’s Reus, titled Reus 2, is headed to Steam’s Strategy Fest starting August 28th. A brand new demo will be available during the fest and will be players’ first chance to try out the sequel after its announcement back in May.

In the full version of Reus 2, players control mighty, towering giants as they work to nurture planets in order to guide humanity, but there are many more responsibilities as well. Players will also be able to explore the fate of humanity by creating multiple planets and seeing how different civilizations shape the world around them. Additionally, players must plan and strategize ways to bring more life and help civilization evolve to each planet by putting together thriving ecosystems and biomes. If things don’t go exactly as planned, you can always start a new humanity!

Players jumping into the demo during Strategy Fest will be able to enjoy between 45 minutes to 1.5 hours of content taking place on their first planet. This early demo introduces the core gameplay of the game with a tutorial and a limited set of the planned content. The Taiga, Desert, and Ocean biomes will be available for players to shape their planet with the first two eras for humans. Additionally, players can expect to play as three amazing giants - rock, swamp, and ocean. The full version of the game will include even more content, including new and familiar giants. The developers are releasing this demo to gather feedback and share a first glimpse at what to expect as Reus 2 heads toward launch.

Features

  • Control Giants: Step into the shoes of mighty giants as they shape planets. Foster or punish the development of human societies. The choice is yours.
  • Experiment with Natural Resources: Using different combinations of flora and fauna together can help find new interactions between these elements and witness how they change the human societies that inhabit that world.
  • Observe and Define Your Own Goals: Shape the development of humanity and watch as their societies evolve from primitive eras to advanced civilizations. Whether they are obsessed space explorers or self-destructive warmongers, who are you to judge humanity’s choices?

Reus 2 is currently in development. To try out the demo, check out the Reus 2 Steam Page during Strategy Fest from August 28th through September 4th. Players can also wishlist the game and join the Discord to be the first to hear about any updates and join the ever-growing community.
