Today, to celebrate the Warhammer Skulls Festival, game developer Nomad Games have added 5 new playable characters to their title, Talisman: Digital 5th Edition. Warhammer Skulls is Warhammer’s annual video games festival event, featuring new content across a wide range of Warhammer titles, an announcement showcase and more.
Comprising The Druid, The Minstrel, The Ranger, The Swordsman and The Jester, the remastered characters added to celebrate the Warhammer Skulls Festival are now available to play in all modes of Talisman: Digital 5th Edition. Originally available in Talisman: Digital Classic Edition, Nomad Games have updated all 5 of these iconic characters to fit within the modern rules and style of Talisman: 5th Edition.
The Druid and The Minstrel characters are available for free to all owners of Talisman: Digital 5th Edition, having originally been available in the base 4th Edition version of the Talisman board game. The Ranger, The Jester and The Swordsman are available as individual purchases, or players can bring across their original purchases of these characters from Talisman: Digital Classic Edition to unlock the new, remastered versions.
Alongside the release of these 5 characters, Nomad Games have also officially announced that on July 10th 2025, players will be able to purchase Talisman: Digital 5th Edition - Alliances: Fate Beckons on Steam. This will be the first 5th Edition exclusive expansion for Talisman: Digital 5th Edition, adapting the popular expansion for the physical board game, which focuses on co-op play and challenges players with facing a series of Trials of increasing difficulty using teamwork and skill.

Originally released in 1983 by Games Workshop, Talisman is a fantasy board game where players embark on an epic quest through a land full of dangerous enemies and treacherous challenges. Talisman: Digital 5th Edition is the digital adaptation of the 5th Edition of the Talisman board game, developed by Nomad Games in collaboration with Games Workshop.
In Talisman: Digital 5th Edition, players are able to experience a fully faithful adaptation of the much-loved board game, faithfully adapting all of the rules updates and gameplay changes featured in the 5th Edition of the board game. The game also includes new features such as a Deck Editor, allowing players to customise their games more than ever before, and play their creations with their friends online.
Following on from their highly successful title Talisman: Digital Edition (now renamed Talisman: Digital Classic Edition), the team at Nomad Games have created a follow-up using the knowledge, experience and player feedback they’ve gained in the over 10 years since launching Talisman: Digital Edition, their first title as a studio. With over 1.5 million units for Talisman: Digital Edition being sold since launch, Nomad Games are looking to continue their success in adapting Talisman digitally with this new edition.
Talisman: Digital 5th Edition is available now on Steam, with other platforms to follow. It is available to purchase for £24.99/$29.99 or the regional equivalent, with The Swordsman, The Ranger and The Jester available as separate purchases.
Talisman: Digital 5th Edition - Alliances: Fate Beckons is planned to release onto Steam on June 18th, and will retail at £7.49/$8.99 or the regional equivalent.
