Helsinki, Finland - October 28th 2026: Finnish indie studio Another Round Entertainment, the team behind the platformer Jumpbound, announced today RAHKO: Shadows Around Us, a 1-4 player co-op survival horror set in the Finnish woods in absolute darkness. The game's Steam page is open now, and players can wishlist it today.

You will fear the dark
An eternal Kekri night has fallen upon the Finnish wilderness, tearing open the boundaries between the human world and the Väki, the old spirits of Finnish folklore. The last beacon of light keeping the horrors at bay, the moon, has been painted black with tar by a mysterious being called Rahko.
Players are drawn to their uncle's cottage to investigate what has happened to their missing aunt, but they get stuck in the middle of the dark forest on the way. From there, survival depends on the group, the fire and what you can find in the dark.

- 1-4 player co-op horror: Survive the darkness with your friends in the Finnish woods and countryside.
- Stay in the light: Find and craft various light sources and keep the fire burning as Rahko hunts those who wander into the dark. Every fire must be lit from an existing source, tracing back to the first campfire.
- Scavenge and craft: Explore the darkness to search cottages, farms, and other points of interest for materials. Use the materials to craft gear and offerings.
- Win over the Väki: Encounter angered beings from the Finnish folklore and turn them into allies with the right offerings and by completing quests.
- Survive the wildlife: As a bear charges at you, run for your life or stand your ground and assert dominance with a well-timed "PERKELE!".
- Investigate the mystery: Search the forest for notes and clues and appease the Väki to learn what has happened and how to survive the night.
- Increase your Sisu: Perform stereotypical Finnish feats of strength to increase your Sisu Level and become stronger.
- Authentically Finnish: From cottages and saunas to characters and humor, the game is inspired by real locations and culture in the South-West Finland's countryside.
Players will move through woods, lakes, swamps, cottages and farms by appeasing the spirits of the forest, water and buildings. They will also solve the puzzles of the underground realm of the Maahinen and feel the boons of old gods such as Ahti, Tapio and Ilmarinen.

Everyone on the team has spent time at a cottage in the middle of nowhere, and we know how loud the dark can get. RAHKO: Shadows Around Us will launch on PC in 2027 and is available to wishlist now on Steam.
