Pirates! Pirates in the Bermuda Void! Forgotten Seas is now available on Steam in 1.0!

Players enter this seeming paradise as survivors of a crashed United States Navy patrol, lost in the Bermuda Triangle. Coming to the surface of warm tropical waters, players have to quickly get their bearings and find nearby dry land, then start working on a way to find a way out. The Bermuda Void is an endless ocean where land is scarce and unseen forces continuously remake its surface, plunging isles into endless depths and bringing new ones to dry in the light of the sun. 

Forgotten Seas plays with the survival genre. While it is built with cooperative gameplay in mind, either with old friends or new ones found on the Forgotten Seas Official Discord, it is balanced to ensure that players preferring solitary pursuits can fully enjoy what the game has to offer in local, offline play. It also does away with endless grinding to create the first usable tool or punching trees endlessly for the most basic of supplies. The streamlined crafting is paired with an elegant harvesting system and robust skill system. All of these encourage players to build their first raft as soon as possible and set out across the endless blue in search of adventure under billowing sails.

The Bermuda Void is the players' oyster with a stout deck under their feet. Sharks, mermaids, and of course the undead Dread Pirates cross the waves offering danger and opportunity in equal measure. Islands that emerge from the depths of the ocean tempt with resources to build havens for fellow players and grow the players' fleet, while remote ruins offer untold riches and clues to unlock the secrets of the Void - assuming players can survive long enough to get out alive. Between expeditions, players can kick back under the tropical sun in their tropical mansion, share a drink with their crew, and admire their fleet - either floating in dock or in their pockets.


That’s right: Thanks to the magic of the Bermuda Void, each ship can be shrunk, put in a bottle, and deployed at a moment's notice. Need to cross the waves fast? Throw a bottle with a schooner into the water and set sail! Treasure weighing down? Replace that with a galleon. Dread Pirates breathing down the players' neck? It's time to fish the 200-foot man o’ war out of the pocket and introduce the supernatural ne'er-do-wells to 1400 tons of naval superiority! Assuming, of course, a kraken isn't about to emerge from the waters...


Thanks to Early Access and community involvement, Pangea Game Studios was able to squash countless bugs that the husband and wife duo creating the game would never be able to do on their own. What's more, players helped shape the experience, leading to a fundamental retooling of the combat system on land and water, an improved sailing model, and prioritization of new gameplay mechanics. These include treasure hunting across the disappearing islands, expanded building mechanics allowing for the building of fully functional townships with players' own crew, trade, farming, and manufacturing, all designed to fit in seamlessly with the game's terrain without limiting the players' imaginations.
