Achimphang Studio, a solo Indie game developer in South Korea, announced a new mystery adventure game on Steam, Panopticon.
Players begin as a part-time worker at a café, soon finding themselves drawn into a series of strange events. The café owner monitors the workers through security cameras, issuing a bunch of instructions via text messages. The player must complete the tasks from the boss perfectly during the game play. Every action of the player is tracked in real-time. Too many mistakes can cause a game over.
Panopticon delivers a realistic café working simulation. Tasks include not only making coffee but mopping the floor and tidying up dishes also. The interactions for the tasks require more than just pressing buttons—sometimes quick-time events or mouse drag operations could be also needed.
The conversation scenes in Panopticon are built with the Meta Human of Unreal Engine.
Characters with rich expressions and cinematic camera work enhance the immersion in a story filled with escalating tension. Dive into the rich, intriguing story to uncover the truth hidden within this café.
