The Dormant Powers update for Witchspire, Envar Games’ Early Access open-world co-op adventure, lands its broomstick now on Steam, a mere three weeks after their previous major update, Haunted Magick, landed to start the spooky season.
Dormant Powers brings a cauldron of new features for your witchy coven to enjoy. Salvage unwanted items to create new ones, and, for the first time, a familiar. Your new companion, Scrappy, is only available through crafting, and his arrival comes with a welcome spell of improvement to familiar control as well as an emote wheel so you can finally offer chin scratches to your Locto.
Six different Scrappys are available to craft, each with a different elemental ability. And yes, you can salvage Scrappy. But what kind of heartless witch would do that?!
Weapon Systems 2.0 is one of the largest mechanical overhauls to the game, including the weapon enhancement table. Swap and replace Spell Gems between weapons bases with complete freedom, allowing you to tinker and find your perfect combination for witchcraft. You’ll also now have the ability to upgrade weapons and spell gems, so you can hold onto your favourite spellblade forever. The new combat system brings with it a number of new spells for players to experiment with - enabling that one friend to support you with shielding and healing whilst you deal high burst damage.
Fancy putting a little hex appeal into your spells? Experiment with Sigils, new items that add powerful effects to your magic. Add multi-shot to fire a barrage of projectiles or make spells orbit around you. The rarer the spell, the more Sigils you can add. Mix, match and see what sort of mischief you can magic up!
Dormant Powers is the latest update for Witchspire as it continues its Early Access adventure. Its previous update, Haunted Magick, which landed earlier this month, added major quality of life upgrades including inventory sorting, new outfits and player heads, the 82-piece Gothic building set, plus more than 40 bonus building decorations and two familiars: Enmire and Pumpaling.
