After 12 months of development, iteration, and close collaboration with its community, NewGen Studio is proud to announce that North Hunt will officially launch in Early Access on April 16, 2026. Alongside this announcement, a brand-new trailer has been released today, offering players a more profound look at the evolved gameplay, visual overhaul, and refined systems that define this next chapter.
Following the success of the studio’s previous title, West Hunt, North Hunt represents a significant evolution of the social deduction formula. What began as a chaotic and humorous game of deception has grown into a more dynamic, strategic, and immersive multiplayer experience, without losing the unpredictability and charm that made the original stand out.
Set in a living Viking village, North Hunt places players in a tense game of observation and misdirection. Thieves must blend seamlessly among NPC villagers while completing secret objectives, while chiefs rely on intuition, deduction, and timing to uncover them before it’s too late. Every match becomes a mind game where small actions, subtle behaviors, and even mistakes can shift the outcome.
The game is designed with flexibility at its core. Players can engage in 1v1 duels, full team matches of up to 4v4, or experiment with custom variations such as 1v3, 2v4, and more. This adaptability allows for a wide range of experiences, from tight, tactical encounters to large-scale chaotic sessions with friends.
Over the past two years, NewGen Studio has focused on refining every aspect of the experience. From smoother gameplay and expanded class systems to a complete UI/UX overhaul and improved matchmaking, each system has been revisited with one goal in mind: making deception more readable, gameplay more fluid, and matches more engaging from start to finish.
The newly released trailer, available today, highlights these improvements, showcasing enhanced character designs, more expressive animations, and a stronger visual identity that better reflects the game’s Nordic setting. It also offers a glimpse into the deeper systems at play, including new mechanics that reward both strategy and adaptability.
