Hamburg, 23.02.2022: Today German game development studio gameXcite is launching the remaster version of the popular cross-platform builder game “Asterix & Friends” for PC, Android and iOS. The remaster, a complete remake of the once Flash-based game in the Unity engine, adds a lot of new content for players to explore: a female villager with brand new quest lines, a new feature called Journeys, visual building upgrades and village beautifications.
New adventures await players of “Asterix & Friends”. With the remastered version of the game, players will now be able to embark on journeys and visit Corsica, Spain and Britain with their heroes; more destinations will follow in the next months. “Journeys” is a brand-new gameplay feature with captivating and funny storylines based on the locations, lore and humor of the beloved comic books.
Every journey consists of an extensive questline, divided into five stages with nine chapters each, unlocked gradually by completing previous chapters and reaching new reputation levels with the local faction. By carefully planning and selecting the best combination of villagers, equipment and character traits, players can succeed in the missions and earn specific country currencies. Depending on the reputation and currency, players will be able to buy exclusive items from the faction shops as well as beautifications that will change their village appearance.
gameXcite has worked together closely with license holder Les Éditions Albert René to create a new character for the village with engaging quests and storylines: Gardenia, wife of the village’s blacksmith. She marks the first ever female character to be added to the game and offers 60 new quests for players to explore as well as her own new building: the garden.
With the remaster, players will also gain a lot of new customization options for their village via new decorative items unlocked by proceeding in the journeys feature as well as visual building upgrades that are reflecting their progress in the main game.
