FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Iasi, Romania, May 18th 2021 - Good news for puzzle games players! GrimTalin announced today the release of their latest game, Long Ago: A Puzzle Tale, on Nintendo Switch™, Xbox One and Steam on May 28th. With 80 levels to solve in a set of relaxing ambiances, lots of mechanics to uncover as you progress and a fully voiced story told in rhyme, this one feels like more than your average puzzler.
"I wanted to make the kind of puzzle game that I feel would've been almost a AAA puzzle game back in the day, when the genre was still a major one in the industry." explained Catalin Marcu, the game's creator. "Now the grid based puzzle genre feels over-represented by games with 2D cartoony esthetics and a list of levels to scroll through. Not that there's anything wrong with those, but I wanted to make something different. A puzzle game with 3D visuals, lush vegetation, lots of mechanics to figure out, a decent story to unravel and high production values overall - as high as I could as a solo indie developer."
In Long Ago: A Puzzle Tale players can experience a beautiful colorful world as they solve intuitive puzzles and collect feathers, gems and coins. The story follows a brave princess striving for freedom and adventure when everyone around her tries to keep her in line with the status quo. Besides advancing the story, each of the game's five chapters brings with it a new visual theme and unique puzzle mechanics.
One key aspect that not everyone enjoys about puzzle games is how often they can halt your progress when you get stuck on a level. Fortunately, in Long Ago: A Puzzle Tale, a very useful hint system will make sure that players will never get stuck for too long. As they try to find the solution for a level, the hints bar charges and once full, players can check out just a few steps or even the entire solution if they want. "It's all in the name of having a relaxing experience" the developer said.
You can pre-order the game now for 9.99$ / 9.99€ on Nintendo eShop (10% off discount) and Microsoft Store or wishlisht the game on Steam. And, on May 28th, get your favorite beverage ready and your thinking cap on, for a relaxing afternoon of puzzle solving!
