Legendary Composer Yuzo Koshiro to give a Rare Performance at BitSummit X-Roads

Professor Sakamoto, Extra Credits, and EPOS join the growing list of guests & supporters

KYOTO, JAPAN — July 27, 2022 — BitSummit, now celebrating ten years of the best of Japanese indies, reveals musical acts Yuzo Koshiro and Professor Sakamoto will be joining the  BitSummit X-Roads (pronounced crossroads)  stage. Co-founder of the award-winning “Extra Credits,” James Portnow, will also appear. Fans can catch them live Saturday, August 6, and Sunday, August 7, 2022, in Kyoto, and viewable online through BitSummit's YouTube, TikTok and Bili Bili, and Twitch channels.


BitSummit is excited to welcome acclaimed composer Yuzo Koshiro (Streets of Rage, Sol Cresta) for the first time. Joining Koshiro is long-time BitSummit musical guest and opening act, Professor Sakamoto. Both will perform together for a unique world premiere collaboration in honor of BitSummit’s tenth anniversary. 


Award-winning online web series creator James Portnow will also take the BitSummit X-Roads stage. As part of the Extra Credits team, Portnow has become a critically acclaimed storyteller and watched their channel grow to 2.6 million subscribers. In addition to Extra Credits, Portnow is an accomplished game designer and consultant best known for his theories on socially positive design.


BitSummit is honored to count Premier Audio Brand EPOS as a sponsor of BitSummit X-Roads and patron of the indie developers exhibiting on the show floor this year. BitSummit X-Roads will take place Saturday, August 6, and Sunday, August 7, 2022. Operating hours are from 10:00 AM JST until 5:00 PM JST. BitSummit X-Roads will broadcast from the main stage on both days live on YouTube, Twitch, TikTok, and Bili Bili in Japanese, English, and Chinese.

BitSummit opens its doors to local and visiting indie game enthusiasts for the first time since 2019 and will enforce strict COVID restrictions and safety measures to ensure a safe and secure environment for all exhibitors, developers, and guests.
