Thursday 24th August [London, United Kingdom] - The wait is finally over! Pocket Gamer, the industry-leading authority in mobile gaming, has just announced the Top 50 Mobile Game Makers list for 2023. The full list was revealed at an exclusive dinner held at the prestigious Hyatt Regency Cologne, Germany. This invite-only occasion provided an electrifying atmosphere to honour the exceptional contributors who shape the future of the mobile games industry.
After an exhilarating round of nominations, the Top 50 Mobile Game Makers 2023 list has officially been announced. The list represents the best game developers and publishers, encompassing the full scale of talent and creativity from around the world. Amongst this year's triumphant 2023 Top 50 Game Makers, illustrious studios such as miHoYo, Tencent, Netease, Supercell, and Activision Blizzard proudly reign supreme as the top five. Some notable mentions included in this year’s Top 50 Game Makers list include Lilith Games, FunPlus, Rovio, Square Enix, Playtika, Roblox, and Electronic Arts- showcasing a wide variety of exceptional international talent within the growing games industry. As a tradition upheld for the 13th consecutive year, the list was curated and released by the industry experts at PocketGamer.biz, ensuring that the Top 50 Mobile Game Makers represent the industry's top people. However, to ensure every extraordinary studio is noticed, nominations were open to the public and industry. Enthusiastic mobile game creators and fans worldwide seized this opportunity to submit their suggestions and supporting material for the team's consideration.
Just like previous years, the mobile games industry has continued to be the centre of innovation. From exciting new releases such as Marvel SNAP and Honkai: Star Rail, to global giants Sega aiming to acquire Rovio Entertainment, and to Netflix expanding its reach with a mobile games subscription service, it has been an eventful year for the mobile games industry.
