Cologne, Germany, July 11th, 2023 - The Indie Arena Booth at gamescom is more popular than ever and returns to Cologne from August 23rd to 27th 2023. Indie devs from 33 countries will showcase their creative output - from handpainted adventures, to trips through the underworld to cozy life sims - in a completely overhauled booth.
More studios than ever - more than 300 - have applied for one of the coveted spots in the IAB lineup - and about 160 have been selected this year:

In hall 10.2 indie devs and publishers from all over the world are going to show off the fruits of their labor on more than 1,600 square meters: Deck13, Raw Fury, Playstack, Phoenixx Inc., Fireshine Games, and many more will be present. Nintendo will once again show eight of the most promising indie titles for Nintendo Switch in their own dedicated area. Additionally, delegations from various countries and German states like SwissGames, Games Bavaria, Catalan Institute for Cultural Companies or Northern Ireland Screen are going to showcase games from their regions. No genre mix is too wild and no setting too weird: How about a tactical ISO-RPG about love and loyalty like Arcadian Atlas? Or would you prefer the cozy life sim Tiny Bookshop, where you can manage your very own second hand bookstore? Or maybe an action platformer about a man in a bunny costume - Super Bunny Man? ALso on board are some of the most promising German games: Mimimi Games are going to show their pirate stealth tactics game Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew and the creator of the original Die Siedler games will present his new building sim Pioneers of Pagonia. For the first time, there is also going to be a “18+” area .
As usual, the IAB won’t just be a physical booth: There will be a huge demo event on Steam where players everywhere can check out the IAB games they are most interested in from home. The curated Indie Arena Booth livestream, with some of the coolest titles, dev interviews and the IAB Award Show, will also be back.
