This fresh indie survival-adventure launched its public demo today, and players are already getting hooked – one streamer, @splitintwogaming, played it for nearly 8 hours. Not bad for something that calls itself a “demo.”
The game officially offers around 2 hours of content, but thanks to its open world, layered mechanics, and story-driven missions, it’s easy to lose track of time in the Alaskan wilderness.
What can you expect in the Alaska Gold Fever demo?
-
A rugged open world to explore
-
Fully playable gold mines with support beams, rail tracks, and worker systems
-
Hunting, crafting, cooking, and managing warmth and health
-
Melee and ranged combat against bandits and wildlife
-
A boat to repair, customize, and call home
-
Main quests and side missions with character-driven storytelling
-
A taste of long-form survival progression in a gold rush setting
The demo launched at 18:40 CEST, just ahead of the official Steam Next Fest kickoff, giving players a head start before the rush of hundreds of new releases.
Yesterday, a Twitch livestream featuring Alaska Gold Fever peaked at over 6,500 concurrent viewers, showing strong early interest in the project.
If you’re into games like Gold Rush, Green Hell, The Long Dark, or the immersive pacing of Kingdom Come: Deliverance, this one is worth a shot – and a shovel.
