GAMEDEV ATLANTIC 2024: HIGHLIGHTING ONE OF CANADA’S FASTEST GROWING VIDEO GAME HUBS

Sold out event will connect and celebrate the Atlantic Canadian video game sector.

Halifax, NS – The Interactive Society of Nova Scotia (ISNS) is pleased to announce that annual GameDev Atlantic is set to return to Halifax on May 4th, 2024, from 10 AM to 5 PM at ShiftKey Labs, 6050 University Ave, Halifax, Nova Scotia.

The one-day conference connects business executives, students, developers, and educators with a shared vision to grow the local industry and prepare for the future. GameDev Atlantic includes an indie showcase, networking, as well as expert-led presentations and panels offering industry insights, skill enhancement, and career advice.

Presented by the Interactive Society of Nova Scotia (ISNS), the event highlights the incredible accomplishments of the Atlantic Canadian video game sector, connecting and celebrating the talented people dedicated to shaping the industry.

Atlantic Canada has emerged as a quickly growing hub of game development contributing to the $5.5 billion Canadian video game industry with a track record of platform success across PC, Web, Console, HD, Mobile and Virtual Reality. Due in part to a strong focus on developing a supportive ecosystem, the region both nurtures local emerging talent, and attracts global contributors such as Ubisoft, Microsoft and Electronic Arts.

“Overwhelming public support and a sold out show, plus the number of industry professionals joining us from across the country, says so much about our thriving local scene." said Jordan Robb, President of ISNS. “We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to showcase and support the incredible talent and innovation that define the Atlantic Canadian video game industry."

In a celebration of local indie talent, three studios have been honored for their outstanding contributions to the gaming industry. Selected through a mix of public votes and an interprovincial jury, the inaugural 2024 Indie Showcase winners are Brueh Games & YarnCat Games for "Keep The Heroes Out," LethalLizard Studios for "Sanction," and Enfenyx Games for "Virvius."

GameDev Atlantic will be packed with insights, featuring a rich lineup of expert-led panels and presentations from industry professionals across Canada.
