Brisbane, Australia, October 29, 2025 - Arkanpixel is excited to announce that the public playtest for Frogreign, a vibrant metroidvania set in the amphibious Kingdom of Callidrya, is now live on Steam. The playtest features over one hour of exclusive content, giving players their first opportunity to experience the world and gameplay of Frogreign.

Players can explore the first major zone of the game - The Celestial Well - a handcrafted area blending platforming, puzzles, combat and narrative. The playtest build also includes an early version of the introduction cutscene, offering the first public glimpse into Frogreign’s story.
Frogreign follows Rill, a frog prince on a quest to find his sister, lost amid royal conspiracies and ancient spirits. Accompanied by his glowing wisp companion Lumi, Rill leaps, swings, and grapples through a world teeming with amphibious life, solving puzzles and unlocking spiritual powers to aid in combat and exploration.
The world of Frogreign is brought to life in a refined pixel art style, with frame-by-frame animation, beautiful fantasy environments and evocative 2D lighting elevated by a SNES-inspired soundscape.
