Teesside-based SockMonkey Studios has released a free to play demo of their upcoming game Fish Tanks ahead of its full release planned later in the year. This is the inaugural IP release from the studio which has worked with the likes of SEGA, Wired Productions and TinyBuild on games such as Deliver us the Moon and Kill it with Fire.
SockMonkey Studios’ fishy introduction to own IP is a frantic throwback to the ‘good ol’ days’ of 90’s gaming: bright colour, carnage and fun.
The demo has one game mode – Starfish Frenzy – where players control a fish in a tank and has to use power-ups to beat other fish and the clock to fill their base with the most starfish. Other game modes will be available upon the games’ full release.
Supporting remote play, players will be able to play against friends in this pick-up-and-play title, using a mix of bullets, power-ups and (if you’re so inclined) dirty tactics to make sure you come out the winner and leave the others sleeping with the fishes.
Fish Tanks demos is available now to download free of charge on Steam.
