What (the hell) is 1428: Shadows over Silesia?
Shadows over Silesia is a dark action adventure game with fantasy elements, set in real medieval Europe. With true historical events in the background, you can mainly expect challenging puzzles and difficult battles, but also stealth scenes and important decisions. You will come across possessed devil worshipers, sexual demons, and beasts from hell, as well as creatures well-known from European mythology.

Demo is now available!
The game's release date is inexorably approaching! September 6 is just a little while away. But you can shorten the wait with a demo that's out now. The exciting historical fantasy adventure can begin.
Released as part of Steam NEXT Fest, the demo includes the entire first chapter and lets you try out most of the game's mechanics, including the accessibility features for the blind! The game received nominations in all categories of the Game Access Indie Awards
This year's Game Access 2022 gaming conference in Brno, Czech Republic brought not only a lot of interesting lectures from leading European developers, but also sixty upcoming indie games were presented in the Indie Showcase. 1428: Shadows over Silesia was among them! At the end of the event, the Game Access Indie Awards took place. Attendees chose the best of all presented in three categories - Best Gameplay, Best Visuals and Best Game overall. I'm happy to say that 1428: Shadows over Silesia has received nominations in all three! In addition, there was one more unexpected surprise. It also received a nomination for Best Game from the Czech gaming website VisionGame.cz.
Who's behind this?
I've been developing the entire project as the sole programmer and designer for the last 3 years or so. I have several external collaborators to help me (mainly graphics, music, voice acting, localization and accessibility consulting) and a team of volunteer testers.
The game is coming out on September 6, 2022 on Steam for Windows PC and runs on the Unity engine. Full gamepad support is also planned. I'd like to get the game on consoles in the future as well. For more background info, check out the press kit on the website - presskit.shadows1428.com.
