“It makes you re-examine the very act of play itself.”

The title has received three awards at the NYX Game Awards, including Best Visual Art, as well as two honors at the BitSummit Awards; the GameSpark Award and Best Visual Design.

Dreams of Another ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK

It is extremely rare for a game director to also compose the soundtrack for a game they direct. It is likewise unusual for a musician to create a game, and even rarer for them to handle the art, story and script on top of everything else. By doing this, in Dreams of Another Baiyon has created a truly integrated multimedia experience. Featuring 41 tracks in a variety of styles, it feels like a culmination of Baiyon’s career. The album includes “A Farewell Redrawn,” composed with the image of “a piano practice piece drifting from an elementary school music room after class,” and “The Reversal River,” created after traveling to the river of his own memories to record the sounds of flowing water and stones rubbed together. You can listen and download now on all major streaming platforms.

A word from Baiyon
For Dreams of Another I took on a new challenge — writing all the story and dialogue. Because of that, I needed to compose music that reflected the emotions I wanted to convey, as well as the mood and atmosphere of each scene, which made me face music in a very different way than before.
Additionally, a key theme was to convey the instability, ambiguity, and ephemerality of the dream world with music. One thing I consciously tried to avoid was being “too polished.” As a musician, this approach is somewhat challenging, but instead of creating compositions that are overly tight or densely structured, I aimed for music that flows.
As a result, a wide variety of tracks were born — unlike anything I’ve created before.
I also incorporated sounds from not just instruments, but everyday objects as well, so it would be fun to imagine what each sound is.

Please take a listen to this special soundtrack I created for the game.

About Dreams of Another

Dreams of Another is the latest title by multimedia artist Baiyon, the director of PixelJunk Eden and PixelJunk Eden 2. The game is built around the philosophical theme of "No Creation Without Destruction." Rather than destroying objects by shooting, as in traditional shooting games, here, your shots materialize and create the world around you. This unconventional mechanic offers a gameplay experience that challenges the norms of the genre and invites players into a whole new dimension.

Key Features

  • Shooting Creates, not Destroys: An innovative gameplay mechanic that challenges traditional shooting conventions.

  • A Dreamlike World: Fantastical environments created using unique point cloud technology.

  • Mysterious Characters: Interact with intriguing personalities such as "The Man in Pajamas" and "The Wandering Soldier" in a poetic storyline.

  • Philosophical Themes: Witty thoughts of everyday objects highlight unconventional perspectives on societal norms.

  • Experimental Soundtrack: An emotionally stirring soundtrack crafted by director Baiyon himself.

  • PS VR2 Compatibility: Experience revolutionary point cloud gameplay in virtual reality.

  • Enhanced for PS5 Pro: Vivid and smooth point cloud visuals with high-resolution support.
