September 2026 | Don’t Lose Aggro, the singleplayer action roguelite inspired by the experience of tanking in MMO raids, is participating in Steam Party-Based RPG Fest, running September 14-21. It’s arriving at the fest with a pretty big reason for players to jump back in: the game’s first major Early Access update is officially live.
Following a recent round of public playtesting, the new update brings a sizable collection of gameplay changes, additions, and improvements to Don’t Lose Aggro, including a larger party, new companion mechanics, additional combat options, and changes designed to give players more control over their team.
One of the biggest changes is an increase in party size from two to three, giving players another companion to protect while trying to keep every enemy’s attention firmly planted on themselves.
The update also introduces the Summoner, a brand new companion joining the roster, alongside new companion behaviors and a new target marking system that allows players to better direct their party during a fight.
What’s New in the Major Early Access Update
Players jumping into Don’t Lose Aggro can now experience:
- Party size increased from 2 to 3
- New companion behaviors
- New target marking system
- New companion: Summoner
- New tutorial
- New shield
- New toughness modifiers for each shield
- New ability: Blood Strike
- New status effects and debuffs
- UX/UI improvements
The update marks a major step forward for the game’s Early Access development following its recent playtesting period, where players were able to get hands-on with the new systems and provide feedback ahead of their full release.
Now, those changes are available to everyone playing the Early Access version.
A Bigger Party Means More People to Protect
At its core, Don’t Lose Aggro turns one of the most familiar MMO roles into a fast-paced singleplayer experience. Players take on the role of the tank, using positioning, abilities, threat management, and different builds to keep enemies focused on them instead of their companions.
The newly expanded three-person party adds another layer to that responsibility, while the new companion behaviors and target marking system give players additional ways to manage what happens when the fighting starts.
And for players who like a little self-sustain with their tanking, Blood Strike joins the ability lineup, dealing damage while healing the player in return.
With the major update now live and Steam Party-Based RPG Fest underway, it’s a fitting time to find out whether you can keep your party standing. And, more importantly, Don’t Lose Aggro.
Don’t Lose Aggro is available now in Early Access on Steam.
