Death by Scrolling Launches on October 28 - Keep Scrolling, It Might Save Your Life

Ron Gilbert comes a roguelite about dying. A lot.

October 14th, 2025 - MicroProse and Terrible Toybox NZ are excited to announce that Death by Scrolling will officially launch on October 28, 2025. Coming soon on Xbox, Playstation, and Switch.

A fast-paced roguelite with an absurdly honest title, Death by Scrolling is all about fighting, dying, trying again, and - if you’re very, very lucky - not dying. Between enemy waves, power-ups, and questionable life choices, players will descend into a pixelated spiral of chaos backed by sharp writing, sardonic humor, and an action loop that refuses to let go.

New Trailer: To whet your appetite for repeated virtual doom, the team has released a brand-new trailer highlighting combat, narrative quirks, and the game’s irreverent sense of humor. Watch it here:

What Awaits the Brave (and Foolish):

  • Fast, funny, furious: An action roguelite that laughs at your pain - repeatedly.

  • A story for the few, the proud, the readers: Discover the meta-narrative hidden behind the chaos (or don’t, it’s fine).

  • Retro vibes, modern pace: Tight controls, crisp pixel art, and a killer soundtrack.

  • Infinite replayability: Because no matter how good you are, the game’s better.
