Dawn Apart Expands to Epic Games Store With Planned Content Updates

Factory-building sim Dawn Apart also surprises illegal copies with unbeatable swarms, thanks community, and charts a new course for Early Access

August 15, 2025 – Los Angeles, CA – Dawn Apart, the voxel-based automation game from Industrial Technology and Witchcraft, is now available on the Epic Games Store for PC at a price of $19.99 USD.

Alongside the launch on EGS, the development team will soon be unveiling a detailed roadmap and announced full Japanese localization, ensuring the game can be enjoyed by even more players around the globe. Huge props to the wild modder who already went ahead and made a Japanese version of their own volition. But an official version is on the way!

Additionally, for those playing a pirated version, maybe…don’t do that. "While pirates thought they’d cracked the game (with no apparent DRM or protection in sight), our hidden anti-piracy system quietly got to work," explains Thilo Hardt, co-founder of Industrial Technology and Witchcraft. "Without revealing all our secrets, let’s just say the game ‘knows’ when it’s been pirated. And when it does, the player’s base is swamped with tons of enemies that make the game unplayable.”

How did the studio know it worked? Within days of launch, people flocked to Dawn Apart's Discord server asking for help on how to stop the in-game pirates. The developers then kindly asked those affected to buy a legal copy. The inspiration for this anti-piracy mechanic came over a year ago, after Dawn Apart's debut trailer caught the attention of an obscure news outlet. The site mentioned the game hadn’t been released yet, and that there were no torrents available…sparking the idea to turn pirates against pirates.

Buy it now (legally) on Steam or the Epic Games Store.
