PARIS, FRANCE - February 14, 2025. Indie studio Irregular Shapes and publisher Firesquid, have today launched the first demo for City Tales - Medieval Era, ahead of the upcoming Steam Next Fest. The demo, available until March 3rd, offers a first glimpse of this creative and relaxing kingdom simulator that is set to release in Early Access later this year.
This demo lets players step into the role of a medieval lord, directing the shape and growth of their township. Players can try the innovative urban planning tool to draw districts, craft over 40 buildings, and experience the game’s companion system.
Players can also use the Photo Mode to capture their creations and share them with the community on Steam and social media. The demo includes a tutorial to guide players through the creation of vast and organic medieval cities and is available in English, German, French, Russian, Ukrainian, and Simplified Chinese.
For its Early Access launch, City Tales - Medieval Era will offer an intricate economy with over 50 different types of resources and over 60 types of buildings. With its custom 3D procedural engine, which generates each building individually, the player is immersed in a city where each building and each plot is truly unique.
City Tales - Medieval Era emphasizes the narrative with a cast of companions. These characters work with the player to build the city and whose storyline and growth they get to decide. Player’s decisions shape how each story unfolds, adding a new layer of replayability and immersion to the city-builder genre.
Builders will grow their settlements from small hamlets to sprawling medieval cities, evolving their creations and eventually building monuments that will truly represent their city
City Tales - Medieval Era is set to release on PC in 2025. Players can wishlist now, play the demo, check the latest news on the official website, join the Discord community, and follow Irregular Shapes on X, Instagram, Twitch, Facebook, YouTube, and Bluesky.
