January 19, 2023 – Devsisters announced its “Invitation from the Slumbering Moon” update in celebration of Cookie Run: Kingdom’s second anniversary. The update will include a new episode for players to adventure through, two new cookies, new events with rewards, new features, additional customizations, and more content celebrating the milestone.

Shortly after its initial release in January 2021, Cookie Run: Kingdom ranked number one in free games and revenue in Korea. Today, Cookie Run: Kingdom continues to be loved by fans, with 50 million players worldwide and multiple “Best Community,” “Best Update,” and “People’s Choice” awards from Pocket Gamer and more.
The Cookie Run: Kingdom 2nd Anniversary celebration in-game updates include:
- New Episode: Dream Express – “Dream Express” is the 15th and newest episode where GingerBrave and friends embark on a journey to the fabled City of Wizards.
- New Cookies
- Moonlight Cookie – Moonlight Cookie is a legendary magic cookie created by ancient wizards. Moonlight Cookie’s skill “Dream of the Night Sky” drops stars onto the enemies’ heads to cause damage-increasing debuff and shines moonlight to put them to sleep, restoring Moonlight Cookie’s own HP. She will also restore her HP upon awakening from sleep effects cast by enemies.
- Milky Way Cookie – Milky Way Cookie, the trustworthy conductor of the Dream Express, is an epic charger cookie. While casting the skill “Sugarcloud Express,” Milky Way Cookie jumps onto her train, gaining DMG reduction buff and providing a stun resistance buff for the entire team. After she gets off the train, she will cast a shield onto herself and the rest of the team.
- New Event for All: “Woof! Cake Hound Frenzy” – Players can obtain rewards by battling against cake hounds. These 30-second battles will reward players with “Cake Crumbs” and “Glowing Cake Crumbs,” which can be exchanged for various useful items for players’ kingdoms.
Additionally, the 2nd Anniversary update will come with a variety of new features so players can continue building their kingdom and strategizing their teams:
- Kingdom Prosperity – Players can see an overview of kingdom details, such as the Cookie Castle level, number of landmarks, and number of Sugar Gnome Laboratory research projects, to help track updates within their kingdom.
- New Customizations – Players will now be able to customize the designs for Fountain of Abundance, Arena Statue, and Kingdom backgrounds.
- Might of the Ancients – Players can meet the Ancient Cookie of their choice through new missions and stages in this new game mode. A special landmark will also be available to help boost the stats of Ancient Cookies.
- Special Toppings – There will be five special new toppings only select Cookies can equip. Special toppings’ will provide set effects when equipped, and their minimum value for bonus effect will be higher than the regular toppings.
