Rally champ Colin McRae is celebrating a double win at the weekend. After winning the Acropolis Rally in Greece on Sunday, it is today confirmed that Colin McRae Rally 2.0, Codemasters' genre-busting rally game, has taken pole position and grabbed the Number One best seller position in the All Formats Game Charts (source: Chart Track 13/06/00).
Selling three times that of Pokémon Red, the number 2 game, did in the entire week, it's a phenomenal performance for Colin McRae Rally 2.0. The PlayStation game achieved its best-seller status after just three days of being on sale; the game was launched on Friday and Chart Track closes its charts on Sunday evening.
Colin McRae Rally 2.0 has even out-performed its predecessor selling double the amount Colin McRae Rally did on its launch weekend in 1998.
Out on the real-life rally stages, Ford Martini World Rally Team drivers Colin McRae and Nicky Grist and team-mates Carlos Sainz and Luis Moya finished first and second on the Acropolis Rally which finished on Sunday 11th June.
Their Ford Focus World Rally Cars dominated this seventh round of the FIA World Rally Championship and were never headed after moving into one-two formation early on the first leg of the three-day event.

Colin McRae Rally 2.0 is now available on PlayStation, RRP £34.99. A PC and Dreamcast edition will follow this winter.
