[Budapest, Hungary - August 21, 2025] – GrapeOcean Technologies and V Publishing are excited to announce that a major free update for Black Geyser: Couriers of Darkness is now live on Steam. This new content drop adds long-awaited features, including class-specific strongholds, shapeshifting magic, expanded romances, new quests, and more—bringing fresh depth and replayability to the party-based CRPG.
This update is available to all existing players, with Mac and Linux versions currently in development. It also sets the stage for Tales of the Moon Cult, a brand-new DLC expansion coming later this year.
Today’s update includes major new systems like Strongholds, giving each player class a personal base with unique benefits and roleplaying potential, and Shapeshifting, which introduces beast and elemental forms for Druids and Wizards. Character relationships also get a boost with expanded romance content and companion-specific epilogues, while fan-favorite dwarf Helgenhar’s personal quest now reaches its conclusion.
Players can also skip the early-game Crone tutorial for faster replays, brawl with enhanced unarmed combat using new gloves, take on a new quest in Scofarth, and chase four new Steam achievements. The update raises the level cap to 25, offers Steam Deck support in its native resolution and adds GeForce NOW support as well.
Update Features Include:
-
Strongholds: Unlock class-based strongholds with story content and gameplay perks.
-
Shapeshifting: New forms and spells for Druids and Wizards.
-
Romance Expansion: New dialogue and moments with five romanceable companions.
-
New Questlines: Helgenhar’s companion story concludes + new side quest in Scofarth.
-
More Power: Increased level cap, enhanced brawling, new achievements, and more.
This free update is one of Black Geyser’s biggest yet—and it’s only the beginning. Players can look forward to more dark mysteries, dangerous choices, and deep roleplaying with the upcoming Tales of the Moon Cult DLC.
