Blossom: The Seed of Life – Public Demo Out Now on Steam

London & Warsaw, October 3rd — Solo developer Thorin (aka Pebbledust Games) together with indie publisher Pretty Soon just launched the public demo of Blossom: The Seed of Life on Steam.

Bring a dead planet to life in a sci-fi survival game with a quirky little hero who never truly dies.

Players step into the role of a small robot, stranded on a lifeless planet. Once a minor unit in a vast, long-abandoned terraforming project, it now stands alone, the last functioning remnant of a failed dream to restore life. And yet, it may be the only one still capable of turning this dead world into a living ecosystem.

With only a fragile battery pack to sustain it, power becomes its greatest limitation. It will fail -many times- but each time, it returns, memory intact. Why does it keep going? Is it simply following its programming... or something more? A spark of will? A quiet love for life itself? That’s one of the questions players will have to answer for themselves.

The demo is sizeable, with hours of content, offering players much more than a teaser:

  • Terraform a dead planet and watch it bloom with forests and life.

  • Build modular rovers, chain them into convoys, and establish bases.

  • Explore majestic sci-fi landscapes, from abandoned terraforming stations to wrecked ships and orbital platforms.

  • Experience approachable survival mechanics, natural progression, and satisfying discovery moments.

“The first players I showed the game to said it feels like WALL·E meets The Martian. That was never my intention, but it’s heartwarming to hear,” says Thorin, solo developer at Pebbledust Games. “It tells me the game resonates – and it also feels like a responsibility, because those are beautiful, deeply humanistic films. They’re huge productions, and I’m just one person making a game, but I still hope Blossom can spark something in players – make them ask questions, open up emotionally, and above all, be an experience that’s fun to play. That’s why I wanted the demo to be big and free: to let people really dive in and tell me what they think.”

“What really struck us when we played Blossom for the first time, were those eureka moments – the joy of experimenting, figuring things out, and suddenly seeing how everything clicks together,” adds Jakub Radkowski, Pretty Soon. “The game is very accessible, but its biggest rewards come when you make discoveries on your own. Thorin has a strong creative vision yet remains incredibly open and humble – a fantastic solo dev to work with.”

Blossom: The Seed of Life is planned for a 1.0 launch in Q1 2026.
