“Backroom Company” Officially Launches Today on July 30th — Redefining the Backrooms Genre Through Strategy, Story, and Co-op Depth

Backroom Company officially launches today, bringing fresh content to mark the occasion — including a new cinematic trailer, community events, and exclusive rewards. This co-op survival game offers a new take on the Backroom genre as a team-based investigation into the unknown. You will not face the darkness alone—but do not get too comfortable. The greatest danger may not lurk in the shadows of the Backrooms.

Launching today on July 30th for PC on Steam, Backroom Company is an investigation-oriented co-op survival game inspired by the Internet legend of the Backrooms. You will step into the shoes of a researcher working for the secretive Async Corporation (also known as Backroom Company), exploring endless, procedurally generated rooms born from the mysterious "Noclip" phenomenon. Your mission is to uncover hidden artifacts, document strange anomalies, and survive deadly threats within these reality-defying spaces.
To celebrate the game's official launch, the team has prepared the following events and rewards for its community:

A New Take on the Backrooms: Game Synopsis
In Backroom Company, you must track down the traces left by your predecessors and collect strange artifacts hidden within locked rooms. The ultimate goal of the investigation is not just survival—it is gathering enough data along with your teammates to meet funding goals and unlock deeper layers of the mystery hidden in those endless levels.

The Main Control Room serves as your hub, where you can buy and sell essential exploration items. With limited carrying capacity, choosing your equipment carefully and preparing strategically before each mission is vital.

Backroom Company features proximity chat which in itself can be quite tricky—straying too far from your teammates causes signal loss, which can leave you isolated and vulnerable.
As you gather more data, eerie patterns emerge, and doubts arise about the true nature of your mission and the intentions of manager Blagos. Backroom Company challenges you not just to survive but to uncover the dark secrets behind the endless Backrooms—and maybe find your way out.

What is New in The Official Release
They promised and they delivered. Hypercent enhanced the official release of Backroom Company with several key content additions:
  • New Maps—The official release introduces fresh environments, including the claustrophobic Sewers and the haunting School.
  • A New Secret Level—A new hidden level has been added, and it will be accessible around the game’s end.
  • Expanded Language Support—Russian and Spanish have been added in addition to English, Korean, Japanese, and Chinese.
  • Controller and Steam Deck support—Backroom Company is now accessible to a bigger audience adapting to their device preferences.
What Makes Backroom Company So Exceptional
While Backroom Company has often been compared to games like Escape The Backrooms and Lethal Company, it sets itself apart with a focus on team-based investigation and strategic gameplay. First Breakthrough and International recognition
Since the Backroom Company demo debuted on Steam, content creators have shown strong interest in the game, producing engaging, entertaining, and thought-provoking videos.
