March 17, 2023 - Hooded Horse is excited to share that Twitch integration has come to Against the Storm with an interactive chat-based mini-game that lets players influence a streamer’s run in the dark fantasy city builder.
The core of this new functionality is chat polls - with many choices in a single city run, allowing the audience to influence a session by making tough decisions for the streamer seemed fitting. When the mini-game is activated, viewers can join one of two factions (the Forest Guardians or the Council of Elders) and three users are chosen to become leaders of each faction. From this moment on, they can use special chat commands to help or hinder the streamer.
The Forest Guardians' abilities include options such as removing food from the warehouse or increasing the hostility of the forest, while the Council of Elders can increase global resolve or slow down the villager’s leaving rate. Faction leaders are also represented in-game - Council of Elders members become random villagers with their Twitch usernames above their heads, while Forest Guardians get assigned to nearby dangerous glade events. Furthermore, faction representatives can be defeated, with new ones chosen after a cooldown.

Against the Storm is available on PC via Steam Early Access, GOG, and the Epic Games Store for $19.99 / £17.99 / 19.99 EUR / ¥2,480.00. It currently holds a 95% “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating on Steam with over 8,000 reviews. A press kit is available.
