August 15, South Korea - Aksun, a Hack & Slash Roguelite with deep buildcraft and chaotic elemental synergies, rooted in Korean shamanic folklore, is launching its first public playtest on August 15. The test build offers a hands-on look at its ritual-based combat, builds that evolve as you play, and the brutal cycle of death, memory, and rebirth.

Descend Into the Seal of Aksun
In Aksun, players are trapped within the Casket - a cursed device forged to imprison the will of a fallen cult and its monstrous prophet. Each run drives you deeper into a cycle of memory, suffering, and rebirth, offering new weapons, corrupted artifacts, and stat-shaping Echoes to master.
The game’s build system is layered across three interconnected components:
-
Weapons, bound to Hell Gods, define your combat identity and unlock powerful Awakening Skills.
-
Artifacts, remnants of cult rituals, grant elemental powers and deployable effects.
-
Echoes amplify and mutate your build through stat-based synergies.
Each chapter is a branching node map with meaningful choices, from weapon upgrades and artifact revelations to elemental chain reactions like Firestorm or Electrified Blast - all set in a world rich with the lore of Korea’s Six Realms of Rebirth.
What to Expect in the Playtest Build:
-
Two fully playable chapters with boss fights
-
Five elemental systems (Fire, Ice, Wind, Earth, Lightning) with chain-reaction synergies
-
Eight Artifacts and two unique Weapon types
-
Awakening and Echo systems for in-depth buildcraft
-
Distorted realms filled with lore rooted in Korean spiritual beliefs
This is the first step in a growing ritual - and your feedback during the playtest will help shape the game’s future.
