OSAKA, Japan – August 7, 2026 – Independent developer BiteMe Games today announced their co-op desktop idler life sim, Desktop Island: Idle Together!
Desktop Island is a life sim that lives on your desktop. Play it fullscreen and hands-on, or park it at the bottom of your screen, in a floating window, or as notifications only, and let the island tick along while you work. Restore it solo or with up to 5 friends: choose between 10+ professions to master, from woodcutting and fishing to animal care and farming, upgrade the community halll, unlock new buildings and customize your village. Meet the island’s other inhabitants, trade with them and build up relationships.
Idle games are usually a solo affair, and co-op life sims usually depend on one player hosting the save. Desktop Island does neither. Changes are synced to a shared island automatically, so anyone can drop in whenever they want, even the original host isn’t online.
A playtest is also running currently until Sunday, Aug 16th 23:59 GMT+1.
