A Real Family Affair: Season 3.1 of The Outlast Trials Is Here—and Permanent Price Drop for Legacy Titles

Group Therapy Has Never Been This Disturbing. Update 3.1 adds PRIME TIME, New MK-Challenges, and Rewards. Plus, Red Barrels Slashes Prices for Legacy Outlast Titles.

MONTRÉAL, Québec — June 3, 2025  The doctor will see you now… and so will Mother Gooseberry, Sergeant Coyle, and Franco Barbi. Red Barrels released a new update today for The Outlast Trials, Season 3.1, PRIME TIME, which comes with a slew of content updates, quality-of-life improvements, and a limited-time event designed to make therapy a family affair. Alongside this update, Red Barrels is permanently dropping prices across their collection of legacy Outlast titles, making it easier than ever to experience Murkoff’s dark origins.

Following the success of last year’s Prime Time experiment, The Outlast Trials is cranking the dial further into madness. This time, players face a new kind of nightmare, with Franco joining the roster of Prime Assets for PRIME TIME. Gooseberry, Coyle, or Franco unite to hunt you down in the same Trial, and two sadistic MK-Challenges push you to fumigate the factory and gamble your life for freedom.

Key Features of Season 3.1 PRIME TIME:

  • New Limited-Time Event: PRIME TIME
The “family” is back together, and Franco Barbi joins Coyle and Gooseberry for a depraved group therapy experience. Participate in a selection of Trials to earn unique rewards before the event ends.

  • New Limited-Time Event Catalog
Spend your hard earned Prime Time Event Tokens on grotesque and exclusive cosmetics—but be warned, unspent tokens vanish once the event concludes.

  • Two New MK-Challenges:

    • FUMIGATE THE FACTORY – Retire aging workers with a gas that sterilizes the corporate bloodstream.

    • REDEEM YOUR FREEDOM – Collect tickets like your life depends on it—because it just might.

  • Revamped Genesis Program
The Genesis Program has been revamped to include all Trials and MK-Challenges added to the game since release and are organised by thematics.

  • Group Finder (Replaces Quickplay)

A new system to help Reagents connect with like-minded test subjects for faster, more relevant matchmaking. Accessible from the Terminal’s main screen, the Group Finder allows players to connect with others looking to participate in the same activity.

  • Pause Menu Rework

The new Pause Menu is built for survival, featuring three tabs: Menu, Tasks, and Loadout. Whether you're checking your objectives, gearing up, or just catching your breath, everything you need to stay alive (and stay focused) is now just a tab away.

  • Gameplay Fixes, Balancing & New Features

From enhanced Trial Maker tools to imposter behavior updates and stamina item tweaks, this update refines the chaos.

Season 3.1 is live across all platforms. Players are encouraged to dive in, redeem their freedom, and embrace family therapy… Murkoff-style.
