Feral Interactive and The Creative Assembly have today revealed that a mobile-exclusive expansion for Total War: EMPIRE will launch on iOS and Android on September 18th. Offering hundreds of hours of gameplay, A New World introduces a wealth of content, including newly playable factions, new campaigns, expanded unit rosters and additional naval units.
A New World unlocks 44 additional factions (making the total playable number 55), and provides new paths to victory in EMPIRE’s European, Indian and American theatres. All non-rebel factions are now playable in the Grand Campaign, including the United States, the Mughal Empire, Gran Colombia and the Barbary States, with many factions getting expanded unit rosters and broader balance changes to enhance their potential. The scope of late-game naval warfare is also expanded by the introduction of 14 naval units, from dhows and light galleys to a formidable ship-of-the-line, the 140-gun Santísima Trinidad.
Total War: EMPIRE – A New World also offers 2 fresh campaigns:
- The Late Start Campaign brings the base game’s global map to 1783 and the Age of Revolution, where wealthy, technologically advanced empires such as Great Britain and France must fight to retain distant colonies.
- The Warpath Campaign brings the original desktop Warpath DLC to mobile, featuring 5 playable Native American factions in a single-theatre campaign.
A New World opens up hundreds of hours of fresh gameplay; its balance changes and expanded unit rosters are also reflected in the EMPIRE base game, making many minor nations more resilient, and changing the way campaigns play out.
Today’s announcement is accompanied by the first instalment of Feral’s blog for Total War: EMPIRE – A New World, focussing on the 44 additional playable factions.
