Voodoo’s Growth Continues with the Investment in Istanbul Studio Fabrika Games

New investment follows continued network growth worldwide

Paris, France September 2020: Voodoo, the world’s #1 mobile games publisher in terms of downloads, has today announced investment in Fabrika Games, a mobile games studio located in Istanbul, Turkey. This new move comes as part of a series of new office openings and investments that sees Voodoo expand its reach, such as in the UK with the acquisition of Gumbug, and in Ukraine, through the cooperation with Ukrainian studio h8games, in 2019.

This studio will augment Voodoo’s ability to produce chart topping hyper-casual mobile titles, combining Fabrika’s experience in developing high-quality games with Voodoo’s publishing expertise and industry leading services and tools.

Fabrika was founded in 2019, and has grown to 11 team members, releasing hit titles, such as Draw Car in 2019, which has gained over 50 million downloads. Fabrika seeks to reinvent the hyper-casual design model by working with fresh and unexpected concepts, and aims to continue its reputation as a key trendsetter in Turkey’s game development market.

Fabrika and Voodoo’s agreement to proceed with this investment shows the latter’s continued drive to reach global talent and to build a worldwide network of supported studios and developers delivering chart topping titles on mobile. Voodoo and Fabrika will work together to deliver exciting new titles and provide great opportunities for top game developers in Turkey. Voodoo will continue to support the business by optimising the output of Fabrika to deliver platform defining experiences.

Voodoo’s expansion in Turkey is reflective of the rapid gaming industry growth in this market, with sector representatives expecting the Turkish gaming market to exceed $1 billion (TL 6.8 billion) by the end of 2020 and European mobile games revenue expected to reach $12.9 billion in 2022.

Berat Oguz, Co-Founder and CEO of Fabrika said: “We are excited to extend our relationship with Voodoo, using their extensive experience and our expertise in mobile development to craft genre defining titles. We are thrilled to have Voodoo’s support to continue to set trends, test different approaches and develop new concepts. We are eager to support Voodoo in their entry into the ever changing world of the Turkish gaming market, and to offer tremendous opportunities to the wealth of talent found here.”

Voodoo proudly employs a high-speed and agile approach to publishing; from studio coaching to marketing and monetisation. Fabrika will be key to supporting development of Voodoo’s next wave of hit titles, with a focus on Hyper-Casual but also with new genres and trends.

“We are proud Fabrika chose Voodoo. Fabrika has been very successful and creative with their hit Draw Car. They have a hunger to expand and innovate, which is fully in line with our culture. We will help Fabrika to develop their team and gather Turkish talent seeking to create successful Hyper-Casual games with Voodoo”, said Voodoo CEO Alexandre Yazdi.

Headquartered in Paris since its launch in 2013, Voodoo’s extensive stable of games now includes over 100 mobile titles, retaining  300 million monthly active users and 3.7 billion total downloads, making the French company #1 in terms of downloads in the worldwide gaming industry.
