TRACK AND BUILD VIDEO GAME SOUNDTRACK COMPETITION RETURNS FOR 2020

Iconic German spirit brand brings the worlds of music and video games together for exciting and innovative initiative

One lucky indie studio will have their soundtrack produced by award-winning cinematic bass duo Koven

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: After its successful debut last year, the Jägermeister ‘Track and Build’ initiative will return for 2020.

With an ambition of bringing together the exciting worlds of video games and leading-edge music, the concept is simple – Jägermeister is looking for an indie game due for release in 2020 and the winning entry will have a soundtrack produced for it by award-winning cinematic bass duo Koven.

Indies are invited to enter the competition for free, with submissions being taken now. Simply email entries@jaegermeister.co.uk with an overview of your game, demo trailer and any other assets you have. The entry period closes on February 17th 2020, when the shortlist of games will be revealed.

The winning studio will be announced at the beginning of March and will have the unique opportunity to have a game track produced by Koven.

London-based cinematic bass duo Koven is the production alias of producer Max Rowat and Katie Boyle. Within the games industry they are best known for creating the track ‘My Love’ for Rocket League, as well as the trailer music for Driveclub.

The inaugural Track and Build competition saw Cold Beam Games’ Beat Hazard 2 picked as the winning game. The electronic artist ROY was picked as the winning composer for his track ‘You Know’ which was exclusively produced by Koven for the game.

“We’re really excited to be bringing back Track and Build for 2020,” said Jägermeister’s Music Manager Tom Carson. “At Jägermeister we have a strong history of supporting emerging talent within the music industry and we want to do the same across the games industry. The first Track and Build initiative proved that we can bring the worlds of music and games closer together – we look forward to doing it again in 2020.”

Koven added: “We have a fondness for the video games scene and we’re delighted to be working with Jägermeister again for the next instalment of the Track and Build initiative. We’re looking forward to seeing the great games submitted - and to working with the winning team!”

Jägermeister:
Best served as an ice cold shot, Jägermeister is a family owned brand and a unique herbal spirit that was developed by Curt Mast from a secret recipe.  Launched in Germany over 80 years ago, Jägermeister is made by Mast-Jägermeister SE, in Wolfenbüttel Germany using a blend of 56 different herbs, blossoms, roots and fruits from all over the world and this secret recipe has not changed since it was first made. The pure and natural botanical ingredients are extracted in their raw, unprocessed form through a gentle, weeks-long process of cold maceration to create Jägermeister's base. The base, housed in more than 400 oak casks, then "breathes" for one full year to guarantee a high-quality finish, and authentic taste. Jägermeister contains 35% alcohol by volume.
