HAWKSWELL ANNOUNCES CELTIC FANTASY CRPG LEGENDS OF AWEN: RISE OF THE FIANNA

Paris, France - December 5th 2024 - French studio Hawkswell today announced the Celtic-inspired CRPG Legends of Awen: Rise of the Fianna during the PC Gaming Show. Rise of the Fianna is the studio's first title and was revealed with a presentation trailer mixing pre-alpha in-engine footage and in-game sequences. The studio will seek support from the players via a crowdfunding campaign in Q1 2025 to expand the planned number of player choices and the depth and impact of their consequences from their original scope.

In this epic adventure, the players step into the role of Finn, an orphan child gifted with otherworldly powers. Starting as the newest recruit of the legendary Fianna, Finn will rise to become their leader.
As the kingdom of Tara faces internal strife and an ancient dark force stirs beneath the land, the Fianna must face both human and supernatural foes. Players will lead their Fianna warband through tactical battles, manage relationships with five unique Companions, and unlock the power of legendary weapons tied to ancient heroes.

The game offers a fresh setting and an encounter system where players can engage in turn-based combat encouraging strategic use of the environment, or choose instead to get their way through negotiation, charm, or intimidation. Meaningful choices are built into the character progression, eventually leading to multiple possible replays. 

Rise of the Fianna aims to deliver a fresh take on Celtic myths where bards weave spells through song, Shee magic lingers, sacred warpaint grants power, and legendary weapons channel the spirits of ancient heroes.
