SINGAPORE - June 21, 2023 – Global interactive entertainment brand HoYoverse today revealed its second Genshin Impact short animation video co-produced with the award-winning Danish Studio Sun Creature. Famous Chinese animator and director Li Wei was also invited as the creative consultant to present Liyue, one of the most iconic in-game areas, with more forms of artistic expression.

By capturing how immortal and mortal beings coexist today after more than three thousand years, the two-minute animation video depicts how tradition, divinity and changes run through life in the most historic yet prosperous area in the world of Teyvat. The video starts amid the magnificent and enduring mountains and cliffs where immortal adepti live away, and gradually shifts to the bustling streets and harbor where ships and merchants across the continent sail by every day.
As the second piece of the Scenery and Sentiment series, the animation video is another attempt to create high-quality Genshin Impact universe content with international artists. Well-known for its compelling storytelling and one-of-a-kind aesthetic, Sun Creature Studio is an international animation studio, winner of the Annie Award 2022 and three Oscar Nominations. Last October, the studio co-produced the first Scenery and Sentiment animation video with HoYoverse. To better incorporate different artistic elements, HoYoverse also invited famous Chinese animator and director Li Wei as well as his team member Zhang Yumeng to provide valuable consultancy throughout the production. Li Wei has been an animation expert since the 1990s and he was involved in multiple famous animated films including Lotus Lantern and Big Fish & Begonia. He is also the director of the popular animated film Jiang Ziya in 2020.
Genshin Impact is a popular open-world adventure role-playing game first released in September 2020, and its universe continues to expand not only in-game, but also in content of various forms.
