Fantasy 16-bit ARPG Shrine’s Legacy Saves the World on PC, Steam Deck Today

CORYDON, Indiana — October 7, 2025 — Shrine’s Legacy, the 16-bit fantasy action RPG inspired by SNES classics developed by Positive Concept Games and published by Indie.io, saves the world from doom on PC via Steam, as well as Steam Deck today.

After centuries of imprisonment, darkness seeps across Ardemia as the Dark Lord Aklor reclaims the land as his own. Only Rio, heir to the Sword of the Shrine, can stop him – if he can find the magical sword. Together with Reima, a mage of unparalleled power, the two ally to gather the eight elements scattered across the land and awaken the only power capable of defeating Aklor once and for all.

Traverse Ardemia’s vast, rich world, rife with mysteries, hidden treasures, and stories waiting to be told. Endure sacrifices as their journey unfolds. Descend into perilous dungeons, cross paths with unforgettable allies, and uncover the fates of those scarred by darkness. Across ruined fields and grieving towns, loss shadows every step, wrought by Aklor’s forces.

Inspired by classic JRPGs, Shrine’s Legacy intertwines an emotional story with fast-paced, real-time combat. Experience the saga in single player mode, seamlessly shifting between Rio’s blade and Reima’s sorcery, or join a friend through local or online co-op. Solve intricate puzzles and conquer formidable foes by combining the duo’s distinct abilities: wield Rio’s mastery of the blade to perform well-timed attacks while conjuring Reima’s vast arsenal of spells from afar.

Strengthen both champions with an intuitive progression system, unlocking new abilities and spells as the journey unfolds. The fate of Artemia hangs in the balance. Bonds will be tested, wounds will run deep, and fate demands its price. How much are they willing to give up to protect the world from certain doom?

“As two friends who love RPGs, we have always felt not enough RPG games have true co-op options,” said Alan Gabbard, Creative Director. “That’s why it was important for us to achieve what Mana games were doing in terms of sharing the experience with loved ones on the couch…or at a computer monitor for Shrine’s Legacy initial release.”

Shrine’s Legacy rescues the denizens of Ardemia on PC via Steam and Steam Deck today, for $19.99 USD. It will include English language support.
