LOS ANGELES/SHANGHAI, MAY 20, 2025 – Riot Games is proud to celebrate Jian "Uzi" Zihao as the second inductee into the Hall of Legends, an honor reserved for the most legendary players in League of Legends Esports history. Known for his unparalleled skill as a bot laner, dedication to the game, and lasting influence on the global esports scene, Uzi’s induction is a testament to his remarkable career and contributions to the sport.
Widely hailed as one of the greatest bot laners in League of Legends history, Uzi electrified fans with his mechanical precision and fearless play. Rising through the LPL with Royal Club and later dominating with Royal Never Give Up (RNG), he helped redefine the pro scene’s limits. Uzi’s fierce competitiveness and deep connection with fans were pivotal in bringing esports into the mainstream in China. His standout performances at the 2013 and 2014 World Championship Finals — and his crowning achievements in 2018 — cemented his legacy as a global icon.
“Uzi’s legacy goes beyond his titles and achievements; he changed the way we view the bot lane role and left a permanent mark on League of Legends Esports,” said Chris Greeley, Global Head of LoL Esports. “His passion and determination have inspired millions, and once we saw the voting breakdown from the global votes, it was clear that Uzi had left his mark on LoL Esports. We are honored to induct him in the Hall of Legends.”
As the second inductee into the Hall of Legends, Uzi joins an elite group of players whose impact on League of Legends extends beyond competition. Uzi received an overwhelming amount of votes from panelists across the globe, further cementing his status as one of the game’s most influential figures. His journey—from a young prodigy to a legendary icon—continues to inspire aspiring professionals and fans alike.
On the Rift, Uzi will be honored throughout the duration of the Hall of Legends in-game event beginning June 11, which includes the return of the event pass that will guide players throughout his career and dedicated cosmetic items themed after and made in collaboration with the Mad Dog. More details to come soon. Uzi also will be honored at the official Hall of Legends Induction Ceremony in Shanghai, China, on June 6.
As with last year, Mercedes-Benz will present a custom art piece honoring Uzi, blending the real world with the universe of League of Legends. Created in a distinctive visual style, the artwork will spotlight Uzi’s incredible career achievements and capture elements of his personal journey. A personalized Mercedes-Benz G-Class with EQ Technology will also be gifted to Uzi. More details about the event will be revealed in the weeks ahead.
“We want to honour Uzi with something as individual and unique as his career: a MANUFAKTUR customized G-Class with EQ Technology,” said Bettina Fetzer, Vice President Mercedes-Benz Digital & Communication, Mercedes-Benz AG. “This one-of-a-kind vehicle shall be a steady companion, always reminding him of his great achievements.”

About Hall of Legends
Every year, LoL Esports inducts a pro player into the Hall of Legends to honor their achievements within the sport and game. Players are chosen by an independent voting panel of esports industry veterans and experts from every region who select players based on criteria including international berths, international and regional titles, role specific stats, and overall contributions to the sport. Players inducted into the Hall of Legends program will be presented with an official trophy for their achievements. Inductees will also be memorialized on the Rift through an in-game event which includes a game pass and collections, inviting fans to not only join the celebration, but to express their fandom through cosmetic items that tastefully reflect the inductee and the historic moments of their career. Inductees and their teams will receive a percentage of revenue from the sale of passes and bundles on a prorated basis.
