New Champions
Hwei, the Visionary, boasts a wide palette of spells, bringing unparalleled tactical versatility to the mid lane. His abilities are not only capable of outputting massive damage, but are also able to provide invaluable utility to his team.
Sylas, the Unshackled, joins as a mage built for explosive bursts. With his iconic ultimate, he can steal the ultimates of opposing champions, allowing him to turn the tables on his enemies.
Rek’Sai, the Void Burrower, tunnels into the Rift as a powerful fighter capable of initiating teamfights and chasing down her prey.
Gameplay
Patch 7.3 introduces changes aimed at helping the overall tempo of games. Super minions and cannon minions will have increased stats to help siege. Additionally, destroying an enemy turret will grant allied minions bonus Attack Damage to help push further.
Smite is also being reworked, replacing previous bonuses with persistent burning True Damage that scales with the player’s stats. Epic monsters will receive increased resistances, making them more of a focal point for teamfights.
Game Modes
This patch introduces Rift Rumble, a new game mode that pits three teams of three players each against each other on a brand new symmetrical map. The mode focuses on combat rather than pushing towers, and features Augment Stones that can fundamentally enhance champions’ abilities.
AAA ARAM also features a music-themed season with dozens of new Augment cards.
Ranked & Wild Pass
Following the Ranked updates introduced last patch, Patch 7.3 aims to refine the Ranked and progression experience. The scoring system is being revamped to evaluate players’ performance and game impact based on their specific lane and champion role. Playing well will reward players with the chance to earn more Ranked Energy.
Legendary Ranked is also receiving updates, including a streamlined seasonal entry threshold for former Grandmasters and a new trial format that allows top performers to fast-track out of the Legendary Commander rank.
The Ranked season features a skin for Milio as a Ranked reward while this patch’s Wild Pass features Pencil Sharpener Kog’Maw.
Wild Rounds: SMASH
Wild Rounds: SMASH 2026 will take place in Korea in November, bringing players together from around the world to enjoy competition, community, and a celebration of Wild Rift.
