This May 23rd - May 30th timing of the festival and direct coincides with Memorial Day weekend in the US, which is a time for saluting fallen heroes. Being a spy is dangerous work, and when playing a spy video game, players are encouraged to “save the world or die trying.” Memorial Day weekend 2025 also happens to coincide with the release of the newest Mission: Impossible film, Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning. As such, spy media is in the pop culture zeitgeist and it’s expected that players would be looking for spy video games to play at the moment. May 28, 2025 also marks the 117th anniversary of the birth of Ian Fleming, creator of James Bond 007.
