AUSTIN, TX, April 28, 2026: Breich Games LLC today announced that signups are open for the multiplayer closed beta of Space Imperia 4X, the digital adaptation of the bestselling board game Space Empires 4X by GMT Games. The closed beta will run from May 15 through May 25, 2026. Interested players can wishlist and register for the beta directly through Steam.
Space Imperia 4X was built for multiplayer from day one. Over the past six months, development has focused on refining the AI opponents and polishing the overall look and feel of the game. While the public demo, which launched on March 19, supports solo play only, the team has been running internal multiplayer matches for months in preparation for this milestone.
Beta Goals
The studio has identified the following objectives for the May closed beta:
- Identify and resolve bugs in the multiplayer server stack
- Validate the lobby system end to end
- Test the turn timer implementation across both live matches with short timers and longer asynchronous games where turns may span several hours
- Exercise the account system alongside Discord notification integrations
- Gather broad feedback on the overall multiplayer experience and surface suggestions for improvement
